Hemant Trevedi is India’s first internationally trained fashion designer. He is also a senior design mentor, fashion stylist, show director, design professor and one of the country’s foremost and highly respected designers. His contribution to the Indian fashion scenario cannot be denied as he has the feel of the industry and its growth. With an enviable track record of his innate ability to predict a look before its time, Hemant also has a discerning eye in finding, nurturing and mentoring design students who become fashion stars of tomorrow.

Among the illustrious awards and accolades bestowed upon Trevedi over the years, the most significant ones include A.A.H.A. (Australian Alumni High Achiever Award) by I.D.P. Education, Australia in September ‘04, Designer Of The Year at Kingfisher Fashion Awards in July 2000, Best Evening Gown at Miss Earth in November ‘06, and PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) Humanitarian Award in ‘09. Hemant Trevedi has also been featured in The World’s Best Designers To Watch Out For article by the Italian fashion magazine Moda Arte, Milan, Italy in February 2020.

The Brand

Having been in the fashion industry since the early 1980s, Trevedi has worked closely with several clothing & textile companies as a senior design consultant. He has also been the Executive Fashion Director at Sheetal Design Studio (India’s fashion plaza). In 2021, he launched his eponymous label under luxury fashion house Purple Style Labs.

The designer’s philosophy has always been to create elegant & timeless works of art in clothing, while still being financially accessible, which essentially makes the wearer feel eternally special. Clothes that can be worn time and time again without losing their charm is something that the brand values the most.
